Amsterdam cafes or "coffee
shops," to use the correct term for marijuana cafes, have long been
deemed
a ganja smokers paradise. Cannabis a.k.a.
"Marijuana" and hashish
or "hash"
are legally for sale in designated coffee shops. These shops have
various
other slang terms they go by such as " hash bars," "pot cafes" or "hash
cafes." Sorry they don't give out free samples.
Marijuana can also be obtained at the Amsterdam Medical
Marijuana Institute,
however you must pick it up in person at the medical institute where
you
can also obtain unbiased marijuana
facts and medical information .
The coffee shops are rather extensively regulated by the local
Netherlands
governments whereby cannibis can only be purchased from "coffee shops"
(shops
that sell of course coffee, food and other unique beverages) however if
a
coffee shop chooses to sell cannabis, it is not allowed by law to also
sell
alcohol nor are coffee shops allowed to overtly advertise the smoking
products
and prices for sale such as you would see in an alcohol or cigarette
advertisement. Nevertheless you won't find many legalization of
marijuana rallies or votes
on medicinal " Proposition 215 " equivalents (the California
proposition
legalizing marijuana for medical use).

- hashish
n
: a
handmade (or machine made) product that comes entirely from the
marijuana
plant. Usually made from the flower portion of the plant which contains
a
high content of the active chemical thc. The flowers contain a sticky
residue
or resin which is collected in a variety of different methods typically
by
"grating" it or "sifting" it over a fine screen or cloth of sorts. The
collected
residue is then pressed into clumps that resemble clay, except darker
and a little more firm. So hashish in theory is the same as marijuana
except purer and with a higher and more concentrated levels of the
active chemical thc. However there are some "boiler room" operations
(meaning
not trustworthy) who make their hashish by grinding up the whole
marijuana
plant, pressing it together and calling it hashish. This type of hash
may
actually have less thc content than just plain marijuana, because it
would
contain all of the main stalk and stems and seeds of the plant, and
maybe
even the roots and some dirt. Hash comes in many different types and
colors
. Similar to marijuana people generally smoke it with a pipe or water
pipe,
but you can also eat it and bake it into a brownie. Other terms for hashish
